It had been over twenty years since he last performed at the historical venue. Accompanying him were his groups Guy and Blackstreet in addition to artists he produced for including Keith Sweat and Kool Moe Dee along with others. This year his career has experienced a resurgence. Much of his catalog has been sampled by high profile artists. \u00a0The first artist to mention is Tupac with the sampling of \u201cPiece of My Love\u201d from Guy\u2019s 1988 self-titled album. The sample was used for \u201cRun tha Streetz\u201d from his 1996 double album <strong><em>All Eyez on Me<\/em><\/strong>. Songstress Mariah Carey sampled Keith Sweat\u2019s \u201cMake It Last Forever\u201d for a remix of \u201cThank God I Found You\u201d which also featured Joe and Nas. The track was associated with her 1999 album <strong><em>Rainbow<\/em><\/strong>. In 2001 Kurupt would use Teddy Riley\u2019s produced hit \u201cJust Got Paid\u201d from Johnny Kemp\u2019s 1988 album <strong><em>Secrets of Flying<\/em><\/strong> for \u201cAt It Again\u201d. Which appeared on <strong><em>Thug on da Line<\/em><\/strong>. The last track to mention is Snoop Dogg\u2019s 2009 \u201cI Wanna Rock\u201d from the title track 1988\u2019s \u201cIt Takes Two\u201d from Rob Base and DJ E-Z Rock. Beyond for other artists hopefully full-fledged projects from his groups Guy and Blackstreet will come into fruition.
